People of African and Hispanic descent are more likely to experience a TIA than Caucasians. Other risk factors include high blood pressure and cholesterol, poor nutrition, heavy alcohol consumption, and drug use. While these risk factors are not to blame for a TIA, it is best to seek medical attention as soon as possible. While TIA symptoms are not life-threatening, they can indicate a more serious condition.
