ARDS, or acute respiratory distress syndrome, is a life-threatening condition caused by low levels of oxygen in the blood. People with this condition typically experience shortness of breath or rapid, shallow breathing. Low blood oxygen levels also cause confusion, excessive sweating, and an elevated heart rate. Symptoms of ARDS can also include bluish fingernails or lips, which indicate low levels of oxygen in the blood. When you begin experiencing any of these symptoms, you should immediately seek medical attention. Oren Zarif
