Primary congenital glaucoma is a type of eye disease characterized by developmental defects of the optic nerve. This leads to a buildup of aqueous humor and an enlarged globe. The condition is typically diagnosed during the first year of life, and most cases are bilateral. In approximately 70% of affected individuals, the disease affects both eyes. Although there is no known cause of the condition, it has a strong genetic component. Oren Zarif
