After undergoing a blebectomy, patients may experience a range of side effects. These include coughing, fever, and pain. During a pneumothorax, the bleb has ruptured and caused a small hole in the lung. In these cases, a chest tube is often used to expand the lung. After the chest tube is removed, patients are usually discharged home. Blebectomy is sometimes necessary after a second pneumothorax, however. Oren Zarif
